WAIMEA LIONS CLUB BULLSHEET

SEPTEMBER 2008

The Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on September 3, 2008 at the Waimea YMCA Family Townhall. The meeting was called to order at 7:01PM by President Brenda Clark. Also in attendance were Lions: Harry Edmondson, Clifford Fujii, Dickie Hanano, Kimo Hodgins, Albert Kawabata, Kathy Manuel, Mich Nitta, Fred Nonaka, Braley Pastorino, Dick Solmssen and Gail Dochin.

It was moved by Lion Kimo and seconded by Lion Clifford to accept the Secretary’s minutes as was circulated. No additions or corrections were made. Motion was carried.

It was moved by Lion Gail and seconded by Lion Kimo to accept the Treasurer’s report subject to review. No additions or corrections were made. Motion was carried.

CORRESPONDENCE:

1. Lions Club of Kona’s annual Lions Feast – 9/13/08 – King Kam Hotel - $65.00 per

2. Monty Richards Charitable Foundation from Bank of Hawaii-9/12/08-4:30-6:30PM

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

1. Teachers Welcome-Convention Comm- 9/17/08 - $12.00 per – CIS welcome

2. CSFII – Lion Kathy – a total of $4,798.00 has been donated from Waimea Lions

3. Aloha Week Parade on 9/13/08 – meet at Lion Rollin’s shop on Friday at 4:00PM to decorate trailer. Meet at 9:30AM at Hongwanji on Saturday. Yellow project shirts.

4. Peace Day Parade – 9/21/08 – Honokaa – 1:00 – 3:00PM – with Hamakua Lions

5. Blood Bank w/YMCA – 9/1/08 – see attached report

OLD BUSINESS:

1. DUES ARE DUE – Lion Kathy will send out requests for payment

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Budget – Lion Kathy will compile expenses from last year and President Brenda will call meeting with committee chairs to go over it.

2. Angels on Wheels – need more drivers – will bring in people knowledgeable on 501C3 to explain to us how to go about obtaining it.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1. 9/17/08 Teachers Welcome – need pupus please – NO alcohol will be served.
